In the world of today every thing is becoming small and portable even the tape recorders. Yes I am saying the tape recorders because if we look at the today's world, we find many things that are offering us music on our tips like mobile phones, mp3 and mp4 and iPod. These all are latest versions of the walkman which were used before a decade ago as the compliment of huge speakers and tape recorders.

The varieties of iPod are available in the markets. You can keep your hundreds of music files and videos at the same time. You do not need to purchase the music cds and only with the help of your iPod, you can have access to your favorite music any where and at any time. They are manufactured by huge electronic companies like Apple, Microsoft, Sony, Philips, and LG etc. but iPod is the commercial name used by Apple but in general, the similar type of player also called iPod by user. These companies have variety of products to offer that usually differs in capacity and versions of the technology. The new players are having large memory and some of them offer the memory cards.

If we talk about the variety of iPod then we will come to know the facts and features they provide and that make them different from other manufactures. They are divided into three sub categories; the Mini, Shuffle and Nano, which measuring of the 91X51X13 millimeters in dimensions. The Mini was launched in two versions, first was in 2004 and the second in 2005. Both versions support Microsoft windows, Linux and Mac operating system. They are available in sizes of four and six GB.

The Nano were launched in 2005 and 2006. It is smaller than the iPod Mini because it was based on flashed memory than other hard disk. It has long battery time and is available into two, four, six and eight Giga bytes of memory. The Shuffle is another version that is more users-friendly, compatible and easy to use than the other categories. It is also recognized as the most successful generation of all the time because it offers good screens and user friendly features that any one can handle and use easily. The good thing about the Shuffle is that it is based on the four buttons. Play, Pause, Up/Down, Forward and Reverse.

The Shuffle has the volume control button that will help you to manage the volume of the song. It also has the USB port and it can directly connect to the computer. However, most of the iPod are charged with the computers and laptop like Shuffle. You can save the video files and it provides you more capacity than typical iPod. With the Shuffle versions 4.5G and the 5G, you can save up to 80 GB of data and that is the hug capacity offered by any version that you have previously seen. So now with the help of iPod, you do not need to wait for your favorite music to hear it after waiting fro hours. You can access it whenever you want to listen to your favorite songs.
