    The walls of the house were of mud plaster with the ceilings spanned by date palm poles laid flat and woven together by the fronds of the palms. No windows and no doors except the large entrance one which was bolted and barred at sunset.

  • How I became Mondeo Man!
    After visiting lots of showrooms and test driving a couple of cars we ended up with a nine month old Peugeot 406 estate with 9000 miles on the clock. It did us very well, doing sterling service towing the caravan, long journeys to the south of France, acted as a load carrier to the tip (sorry, Household Waste Disposal Site or Dechetterie in France), and as delivery van for our business amongst its other roles.

Owing, no doubt, to the high volume of traffic in the tourist season, we often encountered long stretches of road with 40 or 30 mph repeaters for no obvious reason.
