Most of us need to write an article at some point in our lives. Many of us do it on a regular basis. But the question is how to write a good article; one that will effectively communicate your message to the reader, and will make your article a credible one so that you are reflected as an intelligent and knowledgeable individual?

Here are some samples for tips to write an article that will make it a great read.

Keep it in active voice. Sentences with passive voice tend to be dull and boring. To get the attention of the audience you need to keep your tone and style active, which means you use action verbs so that your message sounds attractive. Where possible, direct the reader. This gives your words a strong and confident air.

When people read an article, they want information. So when you write, be specific. If you are vague about something it makes your article look weak. So when you talk about something, explain it fully. You do not need to go on and on about it, but it should be enough that when people read they are not lost, but in fact understand completely what your article is about.

That does not mean you should just start rambling. Your content should not be irrelevant. Stick to the point so that people do not get bored or become annoyed, and keep your paragraphs small so that the article is easy to read. Long paragraphs decrease the readability because people can get lost in the lines, and also people prefer small paragraphs which contain to the point, good and solid information.

Your readers should not feel as if they just wasted their time in reading it because they did not get enough knowledge from it.

And most importantly, the information that you provide should be factually correct. A lot of people will be reading that article and relying on the data and information it contains. You do not want to mislead them by giving them the wrong facts. You never know where your article may be used or quoted in the future, and somebody may use it in a presentation and give the inaccurate data to others. So always verify the content and give solid evidence.

Back your arguments with good examples. For example if you are writing about the benefits of a product, write a few success stories as examples to make your argument a powerful one. This point also works for how to write an article review. If you give examples and testimonials from people, it adds weight to your review.

The last tip to write an article is to proof read. No matter how carefully you wrote it, there are always chances of some errors. With the help of automatic spelling and grammar detection in software, it is easier to find the errors, but they do not point out all of them. So after you have written, always reread your article and make it flawless.

Using these tips to write an article, you can improve the quality of your writing and become a better writer.
