When people think about hammocks, the first design that comes to mind in almost all cases is the traditional rope hammock. Rope hammocks are popular worldwide because they are very inexpensive, easy to maintain, and very easy to put up in any garden or home. They don't require hammock stands to be used, although these can be purchased should home owners want them.

Rope hammocks themselves are very comfortable, being made from cotton or polyester, and are breathable which is great on a hot day, ensuring air circulates your entire body when a breeze occurs. When a person lays upon these hammocks, they contour to their body to ensure they supported and very comfortable. They can be tricky to get on if you are not used to them, but after a few attempts most people get the hang of it.

When buying a rope hammock you should think about the life and durability of each type. Those made from cotton tend to be much more comfortable compared to those produced in synthetic materials, however they also get worn out more quickly, particularly when exposed to the sun regularly. However both types are very easy to clean and maintain, as you only need soap and water to make sure they are kept usuable.

You need to also think about the colour fade of the hammock. When left in direct sunlight, cotton will fade much faster compared to synthetic hammocks. So if you don't want to keep taking down the hammock and taking it indoors when not in use, it might be better to purchase a synthetic type.

Choosing high quality hammocks will also be a good idea. Cheaper variants will fray quickly, not be as comfortable, and may also wear out much quicker too. The last thing you want is to buy a hammock and find it is already starting to look worn after a few weeks. Most online stores and shops should be able to help you pick some of the most popular hammock types, and ensure you purchase one that lasts a long time.

If your garden area doesn't have tree's close enough together to hang a hammock, you could look to also purchase a hammock stand. These stands make it possible to position the hammock exactly where you want it to be, and can also be moved to shaded area's should the sun get too hot. If you are good at DIY, you could even make your own hammock stand, but make sure to check some guides online first, so you know how to fully support both the hammock and the weight of a person.

If you are looking for a more luxury hammock which is more comfortable once laid upon, you should look at the range of quilted hammocks available. These have quilted padding making them much more soft against the skin, and they also tend to be much more durable. The quilted areas of the hammock bed are layered, which allows air to circulate throughout the hammock, making them much more cooler on a hot day.

Add a new dimension to your garden with rope hammock, particularly hammock bed types which are excellent for families.
