In a world where we can do virtually everything at the touch of a mouse, why not include our social life into that picture? It is already possible to shop (Amazon and eBay site), learn (online high school diploma and college degree programs) and interact (instant messenger systems like MSN and Yahoo), so why not add dating to that?

Well, people already have. Thanks in part to Adult Dating Sites; adult dating has taken the place of bars, clubs and other places where you normally would have met your potential mate. In this article I will be covering 5 online dating tips, here's hoping you find what you are looking for.

1. Be honest. In the virtual land of cyber space, people are free to be who ever they want to be. They can be outgoing, instead of the normally shy person they are. They can be the tough guy even though they still with their parents or they can be mysterious even if they work a bland 9-5'er. I am saying to be honest and you will attract the same type of person. At least that is the hope.

2. Be cautious. This one goes without saying. I would be very cautious of striking up a conversation with some one who does not post their picture or some one that does not fully fill out their bio page. While this could very well be because they are shy, it tends to lean towards the fact that they are trying to hide something - like being married.

3. Let someone else know. If you are going to be bold enough to try an online dating site such as Adult friend Finder, at least be bold enough to let another person know. Someone you trust is probably the best person. Let them know who you are meeting and where in case something should happen.

4. Meet in a public place at first. Do not make the first place you meet some place you may be vulnerable. First meet up for possibly dinner or drinks to see what you are getting into. At least if you are in a public place and there is no chemistry, you can leave without any awkwardness.

5. Bring a friend if possible. If at all possible, have the first meeting be a double date or a group meeting. This not only takes the anxiety and tension away from the first meeting, but it makes it a whole lot easier, should you find that you don't click.

Yahoo Chat, Instant Messenger services and sites, have made it easier to find exactly what you are looking for in a potential mate. These are just some general tips to think about when jumping into the online dating world and I hope you find them useful. If the wrong approach is taken to online dating, you could find yourself in a virtual disaster.
