Manufacturers need to make sure that they choose the correct shrink wrapping or shrink film to cover the exterior of their products, so that the consumer is presented with a quality looking product as they are deciding how to spend their consumer dollar. This wrapping, that is also known as super shrink, supershrink, center-folded, centerfolded, center folded, PVC, pvc, P.V.C., polyvinyl chloride, plastic shrink film, soft PVC, single wound, and tubing, has the ability to cover products of all shapes and sizes.

Besides being able to serve as the exterior of all sorts of products that are all sorts of shapes and sizes, this wrapping also comes in a variety of textures, clarities, thicknesses and qualities. And, of course, it can be digitally printed upon to carry any brand name, icon, image or message that a manufacturer may wish to display to the world.

Some of the other great benefits and strengths offered by modern wrapping are that it is resistant to color bleeding, meaning that products such as candles can be safely wrapped by it, and that it does not pick up smells. This last point is of course a huge positive to manufacturers that produce things with strong odors such as harsh chemicals, food and drink items or art supplies, which often contain oils.

These days, some manufacturers are getting into packaging their own products. To do this, they are either purchasing preprinted shrink wrapping and wrapping machines, or they are buying blank film, printing machines along with the wrapping machines. Regardless of which option these manufacturers go for, it is important that at least in the early stages of setting up the printing and packaging operation, they have the advice and guidance of a subject matter expert. As long as a factory has access to this type of knowledge, setting up its own shrink film printing and packaging system is not all that difficult.

There are two sides to the decision to do this shrink wrapping on one's own or contract it out. On one side, besides giving one more freedom to change packaging designs quickly, it is often less expensive to do the work oneself. However, many business owners much prefer to only work at their core business and not have to worry about things such as printing and packaging. Either way, as long as experts are consulted and all the pros and cons are weighed, a manufacturer can make the correct decision as to how to wrap and package its products.
