As websites go YouTube is probably one of the most popular throughout the world. YouTube initially was used to upload funny and memorable videos, for people to upload their creations and share them with friends and family. Since its launch the website has come on leaps and bounds and now offers more than just an upgraded version of You've Been Framed.

The internet has opened up the world of music and you can now go online to download all sorts of media formats. YouTube has jumped on the bandwagon with this and gives you a quick and efficient way to listen to all of your favourite music. It doesn't matter whether you are looking for something in the Top 40 or you want something more retro, YouTube is the place you'll be able to find it. In fact often you can listen to songs and watch music videos there before they are released to the mainstream public.

One of the best things about YouTube is that it can open up a whole new world of music to you. Artists that you wouldn't usually listen to can be stumbled upon so it can make the world of music that you listen to better. YouTube recommends music videos and more so you can easily browse through and discover an artist or song that you hadn't heard of previously.

It also gives unknown singers and wannabe's the chance to record their own cover versions and release them to the world - in fact singers like Justin Bieber have been discovered in this exact way.

With the introduction of YouTube apps available on smart phones you can even watch videos on the move. However what if you watch something on YouTube that you like the sound of and would like to listen to again away from home, on your mp3 player for example.

This is where it can be easy to assume that you are stuck with having to log onto YouTube to do it! However that isn't the case and instead you can log onto a website that will allow you to convert YouTube to MP3.

Usually all you have to do is enter the web address from the YouTube video (displayed in the address bar at the top of your internet browser) into the mp3 converter website. Simply click the accept button to confirm that you want to convert YouTube to mp3 and wait a few minutes. Save the file that it has created to your computer and you'll have an audio file that you can listen to on the move.
