While many people realize obesity can prevent satisfying senior sex, it's not the total problem. The reality isn't just how much weight you are carrying, but what the eating too much of the wrong kinds of food can do to your ability to enjoy your sex life.
The biggest culprits for sabotaging satisfying senior sex are the same ones that cause of the "obesity epidemic." Eating too much of any of these three can sorely impact your love life:
Salt Sugar Fat
How These Culprits Interfere with Satisfying Senior Sex:
Salt is a satisfying love'n killer. Lots of salt, whether cooked in or added on, starts to lead to high blood pressure. Unchecked high blood pressure also permanently damages your arteries.
Damage to your arteries is one of the leading causes of erectile dysfunction, preventing sexual arousal.
Add in too much fat in the foods you commonly eat, you know, the tasty ones most of us prefer, like juicy hamburgers, premier steaks, lots of fried eggs, clogs the pipes you need to get all that blood to where it will do the most good.
Much worse, high fat diets can lead to permanent inflammation which in turn damages both nerves and arteries.
Then there's too much sugar leading to excessive weight gain which can trigger Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes is one of the major causes of erectile dysfunction by damaging the integrity of your arteries. Unfortunately, if not caught in time, the damage can be permanent.
Bottom line? Just eat a lot, or the wrong kinds of food, and you too can become overweight and ruin your love life.
Unfortunately it's an easy problem to have.
And, not so easy to combat.
Especially since most diets don't work.
When I was running a weight control program, our motto was:
"A diet is a short period of deprivation followed by a ten pound weight gain."
The sad truth is, most people gain so much weight after they've been on a diet, they soon weigh more than what they did before they dieted.
Diets don't work.
The only thing that will get your weight, and your health, to where it will work with you in improving your love life is changing your eating habits. What you eat on a regular basis.
My best tip for starting that process...eat food that is as close to how it grows as you can. Fresh foot, full grain baked goods, and wholesome cuts of meat.
And shop the edges of the store when you go shopping. It's where you will find the most wholesome foods.
Most stores stock the staples, the simple, close to the farms and gardens foods, on the edges of the store. Things like unprocessed dairy, meat, and produce.
The prepared foods, convenience foods, are in the aisles. You have to pass them to get to the staples. And, they will beckon to you, begging to be tossed into your cart. You know your soft spots: soda, chips, packaged baked goods, cake mixes, salted nuts. Too much of any of them are sure fire satisfying senior sex killers.
By eating more simple foods, as close to the ground as you can get, you'll automatically be eating less sugar, salt and caffeine, and for the most part fat. Just watch out for the butter and whole milk.
You'll also get more chewing or as my grammy said,
"More bulk, more bulk, keeps you regular."
And, more fit to experience satisfying senior sex.
