Ever consider decorating your home with fine art photography?

How you decorate says a lot about you. A person can spend thousands of dollars on furniture and other accessories, but the art they choose to hang on their walls will always be the center of conversation. Fine art adds beauty, uniqueness and a sense of serenity to any room. It is best to decorate with what you feel is refreshing and uplifting. It doesn't matter how much you pay, or if the artist is well known or not, but rather if you like it... if it makes you feel good.

As you prepare to beautify your environment, choose a theme and stay with it. Try decorating your room with nothing but castles, waterfalls, or animals. Themes can be chosen to compliment furniture, books and other accessories already present. Waterfalls for example take us immediately into a place of calm. There is something extremely soothing about the trickle of a stream or the soothing sounds of a babbling brook . If you can't get a vacation day to escape to the outdoors, bring the outdoors to you through a small fountain or an image of a relaxing waterscape.

A nautically themed den will be made that much more authentic with a lighthouse or two set subtly in the background. Lighthouses represent guiding lights bringing us to safe shores in stormy weather--security in a harsh world. They also represent man working with nature. Many people love being at the beach, and some may remember past vacations. Lighthouses can evoke happy childhood memories, for others they represents a beacon of calm.

A kitchen will only be brighter with sunflowers perennially in bloom. Roses, lilies, orchids and daisies also bring color into a living space and in a print they are perennially in bloom, pretty, delicate and represent life coming into fullness.

Are you thinking of embellishing your dining room? A calm, refreshing atmosphere can be accomplished there with water lilies, orchids or butterflies. butterflies have the power to evoke a calm, beautiful Spring day. These images are extremely colorful and represent the transformation from the mundane to the beautiful.

What about your living room? Castles, covered bridges and even specific landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower can provide a focus for conversation as well as inspiration.

And your bedroom? Sepia or black-and-white pictures of favorite landscapes or flowers can provide just the subtle romantic touch you are looking for.

It can be lots of fun creating a room that is 'you'--a room that will make you say "I am home." Plenty of satisfaction is available through creating a unique and personal environment.
