Moissanite engagement rings are getting a name for itself as the next alternative to traditional diamond rings. Let us see moissanite diamond rings a little closer and their sparkle.

Let us face the fact that an engagement ring is one of the most important purchases that you will ever make in your lifetime. The hefty piece in buying that engagement ring will be justifiable as it will set the tone for your marriage.

But the usual diamond engagement rings are quite boring and a stronger alternative in the form of moissanite diamond ring is emerging and heavily marketed nowadays.

Even though it is heavily marketed, there is still some confusion about moissanite diamond engagement rings. Actually, moissanite is a great option even with such a misconception.

It was first discovered by Dr. Henri Moissan in 1893 and was erroneously called the fake diamond. It was until 1995 that jewelers fully accepted this sparkling stone and turned it into engagement rings.

Even though it was called a fake diamond, moissanite diamond rings are not inferior in terms of quality. Moissanite is a simulated diamond.

But it has even better qualities than diamonds and the most durable and the best in terms of quality compared to other simulated diamond.

Simulated diamonds are materials that look like diamonds but are made of another material.

The only drawback of moissanite gem is that it shows a yellowish, grayish, or greenish tint. This is the only obvious distinction between moissanite and the original diamonds.

Because moissanite refracts shades of yellow, gray, or green, I always suggest looking at more than just one stone. Compare the gems and get the least colored moissanite.

The advantage with moissanite is that there are no natural flaws found on diamonds. These simulated crystals are cultivated under laboratory conditions, thus the absence of imperfections. Furthermore, its hexagonal structure reflects more light making it more brilliant than diamonds.

Natural diamonds have an isometric structure. Moissanite is indeed an excellent choice for your engagement ring. The gemstone is bright and very pleasing to the eyes.

Even with the slightly off-color distraction, it remains beautiful and comparable to diamonds. It is recommended to ask your jeweler to have as many stones choices as much as possible.

Pick the whitest or the most color-free stone from your choices.

All in all, moissanite is a little less expensive but is not still cheap. With almost the same qualities of the traditional diamond, choosing a moissanite diamond rings for your engagement ring can truly offer a lifetime of sparkle.
