You've met the woman of your dreams, or at least you think you have, but you don't know how to get her to catch your eye. Eye contact is, of course, the beginning of every animal's dating ritual. The give and take, the look and look away, and the final look for just a little too long are all part of how we get together and continue the human race.
If you didn't realize it already, women are a little different from the rest of us. Women are astute - very astute - and can read a lot into your eye contact. But the first thing to remember is this: They see everything. Don't look at something you're not allowed to look at yet!
From afar, you may check her out - go ahead and take a look at the goods. But when she is close enough to see your eyes, you better not be looking at anything else but hers.
My mother told me when I was a young man, "No woman will trust a man who doesn't make eye contact." Interestingly enough, I was told almost the same thing in business school, "Never trust a man in business who doesn't make eye contact."
In western countries, a lack of eye contact is a symbol of deceit. When you lie, you look away. So, no women will ever trust you if you don't look her in the eyes.
When you approach a woman you would like to know better, make sure you provide her a full frontal view of your face so she can be assured that you are looking at her eyes. No matter how desperately you want to lower your gaze just a foot or so, DON'T! Like staring into the sun, that lowered gaze will kill you.
You may look away to the left or right, fiddle with your watch, or your drink, but never look down her body. Yes, that is an admiring glance you are giving her, but she doesn't see it like that. She sees it as diminishing her value to that of a piece of meat - and that is no way to start a relationship.
The good news is that most men won't be as attentive to this matter as you are, so you have a real advantage. Make eye contact and watch her fall in love.
