If you read the forums on the Internet you will be amazed at the number of people who are convinced that the only relief they can get when they want to 'ease my mind' is by having an alcoholic drink.

They say that this is the moment they can really relax and the tension eases and they begin to let go of the stress they have accumulated during the day.

They always ask, 'if this can ease my mind and make me relaxed, why is alcohol a depressant?'. This is the question that bothers them because they are convinced that it can only do them a lot of good.

The reality of course is that while alcohol can slow down breathing, release tension and so on, it is actually a depressant in that it is inhibiting certain nerve cells in the brain. The result is difficulty in thinking straight, talking and in co-ordinating movement and also affecting judgement which is why it is so dangerous when mixed with driving.

The first effects are very relaxing which is why alcohol is so popular for social occasions as it really does make the party. But there are no other benefits after that and in fact it leads to all sorts of problems once it is abused and leads to a chronic condition. One in every twenty five deaths in the world to-day is caused by abuse of alcohol.

There may be issues associated with :-

heart disease, damage to the central nervous system, liver damage, pancreatitis, mouth cancer, depression, throat cancer, brain damage and psychological disorders.

Of course, if you want to ease the mind, you may want to have a drink or two and there are even proven benefits for the heart but this can never substitute the benefits of proper exercise and nutrition.

We can see why the feelings of reward and comfort from alcohol can lead to addiction .So, if I want to ease my mind alcohol is not the answer. In fact, it will only cause severe physical and mental health problems down the road. Those issues may be almost impossible to resolve later and may become a matter of life and death. That is the sad truth.

Why not look at other ways to ease the mind such as supplements for depression which are also less addictive than anti depressants which usually come with some problematic side effects for a number of patients.

Anti depressants and anti anxiety meds are a two edged sword. Find out what I discovered to ease my mind which will enable you to live a normal life again. Click on the website to discover safer and gentler ways of coming to terms with stress and learn how I discovered ways to calm my nerves.
