Sometimes it is easy to forget just how connected we are to Earth and her beautiful beings. Occasionally, a remarkable experience reminds me how perfectly we are all connected.
Last month, my husband and I attended a seminar in Las Vegas. We planned some extra time before and after the seminar to do a little exploring. Neither of us had been to Las Vegas. The hotel across the street from where we were staying boasted over two hundred waterfalls (The Mirage). It was also home to some wild animals (lions and tigers, etc) used in one of the shows there. Another surprise was that this hotel was home to a small pod of dolphins and a baby dolphin had been born there five months ago. We decided to go and see them.
The dolphins occupy three connecting pools. When we arrived, the staff gave us an introduction to the facility, describing how to find our way around and a bit of the dolphins' routine. The staff interact with the dolphins at various times throughout the day for feeding, playing, exercising and observing. My understanding about dolphins is that they are highly intelligent and have a sentient consciousness like we do. That means that they are self-aware, like us.
There was one dolphin in the larger pool separated by a gate from the other dolphins. This dolphin was watching two female dolphins swim with the baby dolphin in the other two pools. We went to an observation area where we could see them from under the water. There were two windows, each one giving a view of adjacent pools. Every few minutes, the dolphin by the gate would circle up to the surface to breathe then return to the gate.
As this one circled back to the gate he (or she) swam right by the window where I was standing. On one of his circles around I imagined a beam of love coming from my heart and consciously sent it towards the dolphin as he swam toward me and back to the gate. On the next circle, as the dolphin swam toward me, I felt a wonderful surge of warmth, love and peace in my heart. I didn't create that one. It came from the dolphin. Wow! This beautiful being had felt what I sent and returned the gift.
In my healing work, I consciously send beams of love from my heart. The toning circle I host each month combines the heart beam with healing frequencies and intention for those who have sent requests. We also tone in the same way for the earth. My experience with this dolphin returning the energy was heartwarming confirmation of our connection with each other and that this healing energy we send out is indeed received.
We spent a wonderful morning watching the dolphins play, talk, whistle, swim with the baby and interact with the people who care for them. They were so gentle with those who were in the water with them. Just as we were leaving, the dolphins were playing in the big pool and two jumped out of the water into a perfectly synchronized triple flip.
