Arvor … then - Launched in 1978 by Frank Collins, Collins Marine were responsible for creating Arvor boats.

Frank Collins was a keen yachtsman, and in 1978, a Renault car dealer in Sydney. With a marine background and a career in engineering, it was inevitable that Collins would break in to the world of marine diesel engines.

In 1983, Renault in France quit the marine market to concentrate on the automotive market. Renault Marine Diesel was sold to Nanni Diesel Engines. With only a change of name, the same staff produced the same engines in the same factory based in Bordeaux.

Peter Collins joined his fathers company in 1984, and in 1989 the automotive business was sold with all efforts being placed on the Marine division. The successful company then decided to break into boat building. It was then that Arvor boats of France started to develop diesel shaft drive vessels. The first vessel was the Arvor 20.

Arvor … now - Arvor boats are the UK’s most popular small fishing boats and were voted “Best small fishing boat” in 2002. Arvor offer fisherman the complete package; quality craftsmanship, reliability and a generous amount of fishing space. Other quality features these boats provide include a lock up wheel house, self draining decks and freshwater cooled engines.

Essex Boatyards are the UK importer and Distributor for Arvor. Arvor boats are the market leader for small fishing boats in the UK today and one of the world's most popular brands.
