Children are thought of as a commodity by many in Thailand. It is not uncommon for children to be bought and sold for the equivalent of a few American dollars. Their lives are not valued for more than what their owner can get out of them, and use them for. Children are commonly exploited in the sex and drug trafficking trade. There are many Thailand charities with the goal to help protect children from poverty, and being exploited in sex and drug trafficking trade.

The Thailand Charity Abundant Life Foundation is located in Chiang Mai. This Thailand Charity organization is reaching into the heart of the problem, poverty and lack of education and trades. Abundant Life Foundation takes in children from some of the worse areas for sexual and drug related exploitation of children. Abundant Life Foundation is a Christian humanitarian organization in Thailand and is funded by LeSea Global Feed the Hungry institution. The Abundant Life Foundation is used to run Abundant Life Children's Homes. Currently there are five Children's Homes: Doisaket Children's Home in Chiangmai Province, Mae La Noi Children's Home in Maehongson Province, Phangna Children's Home in Phangna Province, the Refugee camp Children's Home in Tak Province and Ban Den Children's Home in Chiangmai Province. Children from the mountain, Tak, Mae Hong Son, Chiangmai, Chiangrai and Phayao are given a safe place to live, food, medical help, clothing and education. Currently Abundant Life Foundation is working toward creating a much needed network of outreach centers. The centers are needed to provide shelter for underprivileged and orphaned children.

The Thailand Charity FACE, The Coalition to Fight Against Child Exploitation, does not take in children. But the Thailand Charity does try to protect them by bringing about change in the legal/justice system through monitoring and assisting cases involving sexual crimes against children. FACE is campaigning to change the attitude about sexual crimes against children in Thailand and internationally. This is done through keeping media interest and awareness of the situation. FACE also presents lectures and presentations and participates in many conferences, seminars and workshops. The goal of this Thailand Charity is to make law enforcements officers and the public be more aware of the negative impact of child abuse. They are trying to teach that it is a serious crime with real social consequences for the victims and others. FACE also assists law enforcement officers to obtain evidence, often from the young child victims. They also accompany the children to court and attempt to assist in solving victims personal and family issues. FACE has several individual member organizations with their own programs working with them. The Center for the Protection of Children's Rights gives shelter and legal aid to children who have been abused sexually. Development & Education Programs for Daughters and Communities Centre focuses on preventing children being put into the sex business. They offer higher education for girls at risk. Friends of Thai women Workers in Asia deal with and help Thai women and children who have been trafficked to Japan. Child Workers in Asia focuses on the labor issues and abuse of children in Thailand.
