How To Organize Your Articles Into "Sneeze Pages"

If you're like most folks who have been submitting articles to market their websites, you've been writing article after article and just letting the individual articles produce results for you.

But what if you could harness the power of all of your articles by organizing them and offering them in one spot?

What if your articles could go beyond just being a collection of single articles, and could be turned into a new resource that you could offer your readers at your website?

What if you could find a way to direct readers of one article to your entire collection of articles?

What if you had a way of keeping track of exactly what topics you've covered and haven't covered, and could easily see holes in your online content?

If any of these situations applies to you, a sneeze page might be the answer.

SNEEZE PAGES

I first discovered the concept of a 'sneeze page' from Darren Rowse of the site Problogger. He was using them to organize content on his blog, but I thought this approach would work just as well with a collection of free reprint articles.

A sneeze page is a way to organize and get the most use out of your web content. Each sneeze page is geared toward a specific readership and covers a specific subject.

THE PERKS OF A SNEEZE PAGE

*Gives readers easy access to all of your articles in one spot.

*More bang for your buck from your articles--as long as you've taken the time to write a bunch of articles, why not put them to work on your website or blog?

*You can more clearly see what topics you've covered. After writing for a while, you can start to forget what you've written about and what you still need to cover.

*Link to your sneeze page from your resource box--the library of content on a specific niche would be very valuable to readers (and be a great way to lure them into clicking your link!).

*Linking to your articles can help SEO-wise.

HOW TO CREATE A SNEEZE PAGE

1) Look at your article list and pick out some specific sub-topics under your broader topic.

For example, all of my articles are about aspects of Article Marketing, but I have many articles on the specific topic of SEO as it applies to my main topic.

So, one of my sneeze pages is called "SEO Resources For Article Marketers"

Under this topic I've categorized things even further, breaking into these sections:

*Getting Started

*Link Building & Search Engines

*Keyword Research

*SEO Writing

*SEO & Resource Boxes

*Stats Tracking Tools

I have written several articles under each of these topics, so it's just a matter of organizing them all in one spot.

2) At the top of each sneeze page, give an introduction to the topic.

3) List the appropriate articles under each section.

Give the article title, a link to the article, and a short description of what the article is about.

When you do this with your own articles, I think you'll be amazed at how much web content you've created, and it's an extremely satisfying feeling to be able to organize it in one spot.

Of course you'll likely have several sneeze pages. Look for overarching themes in your writing, and then start organizing your content on that topic on a sneeze page.

HOW TO USE A SNEEZE PAGE

Publish the sneeze page on your blog or website, and make it so the reader can easily see the link to that page. You may want to add a Training section to your website, where you can house our sneeze pages.

If you're feeling ambitious, convert your sneeze page into a Squidoo lens.

Study your sneeze pages and see if you have any holes in your content--sometimes it's hard to keep track of what you've written about!

You may want to link to your sneeze page in your resource box--what a great way to draw readers further into your content.
