When you're using article marketing to get the word out about your affiliate products, the tendency can be to try to turn the article into a advertisement for the product, or to submit low quality or non-original articles.

Those tactics will get your article declined at most quality publishers, so you need take a different approach.

This article teaches 15 tips that will help you create articles that work for you and bring exposure to the products you're affiliated with:

Tip #1: If you write your article about the product, do not mention the product name in the resource box. Likewise, if you want to give a sales pitch for the product in the resource box, then do not mention the product in the article body. To write about the product in the article body and also give a sales pitch for it in the resource box makes the article look promotional. Choose one or the other.

Tip #2: If the article is about the product, be sure that your URLs in the resource box do not include the product name.

Tip #3: Give your affiliate link in the resource box, rather than in the article body.

Tip #4: The article should be educational and objective, rather than a sales letter or advert for a product.

Tip #5: You may review a product, but the review must be unbiased. It's a good idea to include some down sides to make your review more well-rounded.

Tip #6: Article marketing is a long term strategy for building traffic to a website because the main benefits come from SEO. It takes a few months for links to be registered in Google, so it will take a few months to see initial results from your article marketing efforts. Stick with it.

Tip #7: Ideally, article marketing should be continued for the lifetime of your website. Even after you start to see results you should follow through and continue to submit articles each month for the most dramatic results.

Tip #8: Use unique, 100% original articles only. Do not use PLR article or the articles that the owner of the affiliate product provides. You must be the sole copyright owner of each article.

Tip #9: Watch your word counts. It's a good idea to keep articles on the short to medium side, at 400-800 words long.

Tip #10: Develop a unique style. When writing articles for affiliate products, you must make your articles stand apart from all the other affiliates who are also writing articles for this product. You may have special knowledge on your topic, a unique writing style, or both.

Tip #11: Know your niche. In order to be attractive to publishers and readers, your articles need to provide value. It is not enough just to say the same thing that everyone else is saying. Learn your niche inside and out and you will develop a perspective and a knowledge that readers will appreciate.

Tip #12: Be objective. If your article sounds like an advert, then it becomes obvious that you have a vested interest in the product, which can compromise your credibility. The solution: include downsides to the product if you're writing about it. Don't try to sell the product. And here's a different approach...

Tip #13: Write about the niche, not the product. Then use your resource box to draw the reader to the product. This approach ensures objectivity and a greater resource of article topics.

Tip #14: If you use a ghostwriter, be sure that their work is 100% original and that you are the only copyright holder of the article. Review the article to be sure it has correct grammar and spelling. Be sure it's an article that you're proud to have your name attached to.

Tip #15: Give first, then receive. Every article has this formula--give in the article body (providing information that will be valuable to a reader), and then you receive in the resource box. The article is a gift for the reader, and the resource box is your opportunity to receive by talking about your product, website, or business.

Article marketing is a great tool for increasing affiliate sales. Practice these 15 tips and have much greater success with marketing your affiliate products with free reprint articles.
