The big day is quickly approaching and you have thousands of decisions you need to make. One of the most important decisions to make when it comes to a wedding is the location it will be held at. Do you want to have it in a big hall? What about a church? Many people consider having an outdoor wedding ceremony. We are going to look at some of the advantages as well as the disadvantages of having your wedding ceremony outside.

Pros

One of the things people like the most about having an outdoor wedding ceremony is that it really opens up the possibilities of the potential surroundings. You can use a garden, a beach, or even your back yard. You can use a landmark, forest land or even a lake as your ceremony area. This usually makes your wedding costs cheaper, as well. Outdoor locations are often free or won't cost nearly as much as renting out an entire hall for the day. An outdoor wedding ceremony allows you to have a very large wedding without having to worry so much about the space that is available. When you are outside, space is unlimited in most areas and you can set up the seating however you please.

Cons

One of the down sides to having an outdoor wedding ceremony is that the weather is unpredictable. You could plan the absolute perfect wedding and have everything executed to the finest detail but if it rains, it rains. Rain can and will ruin an outdoor wedding. Another potential down side is wildlife. Some areas are rich with birds and bugs and other animals which may be undesirable to you or your guests.

Making the Decision

Do you take the risk or don't you? That's the real question. If you enjoy nature then an outdoor wedding is going to be very attractive. Perhaps it's always been your dream to get married on the beach or under the shade of trees. One way to get the best of both worlds is to set up a tent-style shelter in case it rains. If you ensure that you are prepared appropriately then an outdoor ceremony can be very rewarding, beautiful and worth the risk. You can also try to plan your wedding during a month where precipitation is unlikely. You can have a backup plan, perhaps, and be able to rent a hall on short notice if it rains. Something to fall back on can minimize the risks of your wedding being ruined because of weather.

Getting Married Outside

It is a beautiful thing to have an outdoor wedding ceremony. Photos generally look a lot better in natural light and so the photographer that you hire will have a much easier time creating beautiful photos for you to save the memories forever. With the high flexibility of having an outdoor wedding, you will not have a lot of the restrictions that come with having an indoor wedding. While there might be a chance of rain, an outdoor wedding is worth the minimal risk.
