You don't get many chances to put on a good wedding, but the splendor of it all may come with huge expenses if you're not careful. Keep your budget under control thanks to the tips in this article. As you begin preparing, follow through and apply as many of the below tips as needed to see what kind of funds you can save up behind the scenes.

When you plan your seating arrangements for your wedding, be sure that the number of guests at each table is even. Also group tables by age, it will be a way to help them find things to talk about.

You're going to want to put together wedding invitations as the first thing you do once you have your theme down, do this as soon as your date is set so people can plan in advance. The invitations typically include the colors of your wedding and clue your guest in on the theme. There are many options to consider prior to making your selection. For example, do you want a traditional wedding or a beach themed wedding?

Think about getting silk flowers as an alternative to real ones. Because they don't have to be bought fresh, you can get them far in advance of your wedding, making one less thing you have to worry about on your wedding day.

Try searching Craigslist to find a local DJ or band for your wedding. Be sure to meet in person, and bring your groom along for safety, prior to handing over any money.

If you want your colorful wedding cake as the focal point of your reception, present it on a coordinating fabric tablecloth. There are many different styles and options, such as various types of fabrics and textures. It is up to you how to put it all together.

A wedding dress is a big expense. When looking for a dress, consider dresses that aren't necessarily in the wedding dress category. For example, a formal white dress, such as a prom or bridesmaid dress will not be as expensive as a wedding dress. You can choose to alter the dress and add your own flair, while still saving plenty of money.

Try to plan your reception for the afternoon. During the day most people drink less alcohol, which can greatly reduce your bar needs. Lunch receptions are generally less expensive than evening ones and give you the freedom of having more food choices or taking the money you saved in this area and putting it toward another aspect of your wedding.

Consider what the weather may be like on your wedding day. Your guests probably won't want to celebrate an outdoor wedding in the heat of summer. As well, if the weather is frigid and your guests are too cold, they may decide to leave early. Make small accommodations to ensure the comfort of your guests, like providing fans for a hot summer wedding.

Don't think you have to break the bank to have a wonderful, memorable wedding day. These tips can help you save money, while still creating a romantic, dream wedding.
