Planning a vacation? You should look into the Riviera Maya. Riviera Maya is located in Mexico about 25 miles south of Cancun on the Caribbean coastline. The average temperature is in the 75 degrees. It features a variety of resorts, outdoor activities and is home to the second longest barrier reef.

The most popular resorts in the Riviera Maya are the all-inclusive resorts. All-inclusive means it includes all of your meals, all beverages, gratuities and non-motorized water sports. If you are on your honeymoon, most resorts will offer an upgrade or champagne and strawberries on your arrival with your marriage certificate. Most of these resorts are also located right on the coast offering you a white sandy beach and amazing views from your room. The resorts also offer a variety of activates during the day and night including live entertainment, shows and a nightclub. If you are traveling if children most resorts also have children programs and entertainment. There are also resorts that cater to adults only. If an all-inclusive resort is not something you are looking for there are many resorts that do not offer it.

The outdoor activities in the Riviera Maya are endless. There are many different excursions you can take depending on what you like to do. You can go explore Mayan ruins, take a zip-line thru the jungle or snorkel in underwater caves with sea turtles. If you just want to relax, you can pull up a chair on one of the beaches or rent a boat or jet-ski and go enjoy the turquoise waters. The Riviera Maya also offers dolphin adventures; this allows you to meet with the dolphins, swim with them and have them give you a kiss on the check. You can also take a ferry over to Cozmel and explore the island for a day. There are also many golf courses located in the area. Whatever interest you may have, the Riviera is sure to have something for you.

The Riviera Maya is home to the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere. The reef is home to many varieties of fish, sea turtles, stingrays, dolphins and barracudas. You are allowed to drive and snorkel on the reef. The reef also offers rivers, lakes, ponds and cenotes for divers and snorkels to explore. If snorkel equipment is not included with your resort there are many spots to rent it from. There are many spots to snorkel along the reef so take your time and explore and find your perfect spot. If you wish, fishing is also permitted on the reef. The waters of the Riviera Maya offer something for everyone.
