Today, the need for weight loss is the biggest single health concern in the civilized world. Statistics tell us that nearly 70% of modern adults and teenagers need or desire weight loss to one degree or another. That is absolutely staggering. But how can it be that we are the most scientifically, technologically, medically, and economically advanced people in recorded history...and here we are just getting fatter and fatter, and getting the heart disease, the cancers, the diabetes, and physical dysfunction problems that go along with being overweight (not to mention the harm done to one's self-esteem and sexual attractiveness)?
