When you go to purchase a new set of Hankook tires, it is likely that the mechanic on duty will ask you what type of tire you are interested in buying. For many people, this is a question that they are not quite prepared to answer. See, most people know that their tires need to be a certain size and they have a particular brand that they like, but they do not give much to the type of tire they want to put on their vehicle.

As it turns out, there are several different types of tire available for most consumers. However, they were created for a very specific purpose and certain types of vehicles and it is crucial that you determine which one is the right fit for your vehicle, as well as the conditions that you typically drive in.

First of all, there are touring tires which are great for driving on both wet and dry pavement. They offer quiet travel, smooth and balanced handling, and can be ridden on throughout the year, even in light snow.

For those who drive sports cars, high performance tires are typically preferred. These tires, which are good for both dry and wet weather, are made out of a softer type of rubber that allows for a better grip, perfect for traveling at high speeds.

Light truck tires are good for heavier vehicles such as pick-up trucks, SUVs, and minivans. They allow for durability and provide additional traction in the event of off-road conditions. Keep in mind, however, that there are also specifically designed SUV tires, which are the preferred option for the on-road, luxury SUV.

There are also tires that are created to survive specific types of climatic changes. Winter tires, which are ideal for extremely cold climates, offer extra protection from the effects of ice, snow, and cold weather. Off-road tires are good for drivers who will routinely be driving in rough, off-road conditions. Finally, all-season tires are made to satisfy all weather conditions, and are by and far the most commonly purchased tire type.

Picking out the right type of Hankook tires for your vehicle, climate, and driving style will help to extend tire life. They can help to keep you and your passengers better protected from tire-related accidents. If you are unsure of what type would be best for your vehicle, your local mechanic should be able to help you determine specifically what you need.

If you want to find the custom tires that are right for you today, then you can visit Hankook Tires and you may also want to see Falken Tires.
