Is it time to design your office? Perhaps you have a new office and you will be designing for the first time. On the other hand, you may be getting a new office that someone else had. Most likely, the office needs to be redecorated and designed to your liking. Designing an office does not have to be a difficult process, but you must first decide exactly what changes you want to make.

Furniture - One of the first things that you must consider when designing your office is the type of furniture you want. Much of this will depend on what you need to do your work and what type of atmosphere you want to create. You must have a desk and chair to do your work each day. While these are standard pieces of equipment for offices, there are many different types of both. You need to find a desk at which you can sit comfortably. Your chair needs to have good back support and adjustments to make it easy for you stay comfortable throughout the day. You may also want to have a couch, couple of chairs and even a small table.

Color - What type of atmosphere do you want to create? Do you want a warm feeling that welcomes others? Or perhaps you want a more industrial feeling to keep yourself on task and remind others to do likewise. For a welcoming feel, you can go with a more neutral color such as beige or green. White is the main color for institutions, so it should only be used for those types of facilities.

Lighting - Different types of lighting produce different types of feeling within the workplace. Softer lighting is generally better for ceiling lights, as they don't produce a glare and are more pleasing to the eyes. For office work, it's good to have a light close by so you can see and not have to strain your eyes while you work.

Flooring - Many offices have carpeting which is definitely more comfortable. However, carpeting must be cleaned so it's important to keep it as clean as possible. That is why many facilities choose hard floors. Be sure and find flooring that matches your wall color and décor in general.

Extras - There are so many extra things that you can add to your office to give it appeal and warmth. One thing you can add is pictures. Large framed pictures that are scenery or floral in nature are particularly nice in an office. You may also want to consider having one or two plants in the office. Large potted plants on the floor are nice, as well as smaller plants on end tables.

Designing your office will likely bring out your creative side as you get a feel for what you both want and need. It's important to buy quality merchandise so that you won't have to worry about extra maintenance. Purchase reasonably, but also keep quality in mind in order to make your office a comfortable fit for you.

If you are designing your office, you have so many choices. Leather task chairs are great because of the rich leather and many adjustments you can make. The office task chair is great for getting things done in a chair that is affordable and easy to maintain.
