Bond. James Bond. The name can make the ladies swoon and the bad guys run scared. He's arguably the single coolest dude to ever walk across the silver screen, and probably ranks high on the list of men other guys want to be like. Why? Well, in addition to the whole "swooning ladies" thing (which is pretty cool in its own right), you have to give props where they're due. Bond has the coolest gadgets on the planet. Granted, you're not going to get a street-legal car with enough firepower to threaten a third-world nation; that said, there are plenty of other gadgets you can get, like a motorized TV lift, that can go a long way toward improving your cool factor.

Imagine you've invited some friends over to watch the big game. They're sitting around your living room, and one of them asks you where the television is. That's the question you've been waiting to hear. With the press of a button, your flat-screen television rises up out of the floor on an electric TV lift system. They're duly impressed, and you just smile in satisfaction as you feel your cool quotient tick up a couple notches. Go ahead, you can hum the Bond song under your breath. You know you want to.

Even aside from how amazingly cool a motorized TV lift is, they're also very practical. These systems can conceal a television or video projector in the ceiling, the floor, or even in another piece of furniture, keeping it safely out of harm's way when it's not being used. If you have kids, you know that sometimes they can get roughhousing and your very expensive flat screen can be the casualty of an unfortunate accident. What better way to protect your investment than to have the ability to stow it safely away in its own little compartment.

A TV lift system can also add to the functionality of your room by letting you get other uses out of the space a TV might otherwise occupy. Even though today's flat panels can be mounted on a wall so as not to take up floor space, sometimes wall space can be just as important. Mounting your television on a retractable TV lift can reclaim or preserve your wall space for whatever other purposes you might have.

A motorized TV lift has the added benefit of tackling the sometimes daunting task of managing the spaghetti that often flows from behind modern televisions. These days, it's conceivable to have as many as a dozen cables or more that connect your TV to other devices such as game consoles, DVD or Blu-ray players, and surround speakers. A TV lift system will have some mechanism by which these cables can be managed and even concealed altogether. What more is there to say? A TV lift system can give you some very practical benefits in the way of safety, functionality, and neatness. But c'mon, tell the truth, the real reason you want one is so you can crank up the cool factor and put a little Bond in your life. Sadly though, they don't come with a Bond girl.
