As your business grows and grows, you will naturally find yourself with more eBay responsibilities, and as these responsibilities increase, you may find it harder to find enough time to devote to your newly flourishing business. Maximizing the time you do have available for eBay is therefore the key to maintaining both the success of your business and your sanity.

The first step to maximizing your eBay time is to do your research. Take pointers from top eBay sellers. See what they are selling and for how much. Selling popular items at discount prices is a very smart way to make your business profitable and popular.

Researching websites that sell at wholesale prices and in bulk is another good use of your time. You can acquire lots of items at one time and pass the discounts on to your customers, because the more you buy at wholesale stores the more you save, usually. This also saves Internet researching time because, in theory, you would have gotten all (or at least most) of your items from one store and at one time.

Next, set aside one day to list all of your new items, including writing their descriptions and taking their pictures. If you know you have one specific day to get this accomplished it will help you focus better and make you more efficient. Also setting aside days to do your packing and shipping achieves this same result. Once you have accomplished what you previously set aside for that day, do not do anymore. Check tasks off your "To Do" list and, once they are finished, spend time with your family instead. Not only will this help you manage your work/life balance, but it will also help to keep you on-track, making you more efficient all the while.

You can fit in daily tasks, like answering emails, customer questions, and complaints around your current schedule. These things do not take much time, so working around your present schedule is a good way to make sure that they do not take time away from your family and kids.

Finally, if your business becomes too much for you to handle by yourself, you can always look to hiring someone to help you or ask your family for their help. If you can get your family involved, eBay is no longer taking time away from your kids, but instead becoming a family activity.
