In general, a safe is usually some sort of a heavy duty security device. They are often designed to hold valuables, documents, money, or guns.
Deposit safes are special types of safes. Deposit safes make it possible for someone to deposit an item into the safe without knowing the combination, having the key, or having any other type of access to the safe.
They're sort of like heavy duty piggy banks that children use. They usually have a slot on the top. The money that's deposited can only be removed if you have the proper combination or key.
A deposit safe's slot is separate from the door of the safe. The slot was designed to accept envelopes and/or money.
These types of safes are typically used in a deposit area of a business in order to accept payments from customers. Most businesses that have a deposit safe are the kind of business that has a lot of traffic throughout the day.
One common type of deposit safe is an ATM - an automatic teller machine. ATMs allow people to deposit (or withdraw) money from their bank just by using a debit card and a keyword. After sliding the card into the machine and punching in the information it "asks" for the ATM will allow the man or woman to deposit or withdraw funds.
If the funds are deposited they will be removed by a bank employee who has the safe's combination.
If you have a small business to run and your business handles a lot of cash during the day you may also want to get a deposit safe - even if your clients don't deposit their money directly into your safe.
Throughout the day you and your employees can deposit money periodically so that you only have a relatively small amount on hand at any time. This will better protect you against theft and robberies.
And since many deposit safes, which are also known as "drop safes," have "shark's teeth" it discourages people from fishing for the money.
Because you will be storing the money until a bank deposit can be made you will also protect it from any employee who might be thinking of stealing the cash from you.
There are a wide variety of deposit safes available on the market today. These devices come in a lot of different sizes and shapes. But the one thing that they all have in common is that they are designed to keep the contents of the safe from burglars and thieves.
