They say that "variety is the spice of life" and this holds true for kids, too. With that in mind, you should also serve food that has different textures, colors and flavors to your kids.

With all of this in mind, you should make sure that you don't force your kids to eat when they're at the dinner table. The reason this is so important is that if you force them to eat you may condition them to over eat when they get older.

So, if you don't install the need within them to have to start or stop eating at any particular time you could prevent your children from becoming obese as they get older.

Tell The Truth

Children follow the examples that their parents set. So if you place a high premium on telling the truth then you have to ensure that your kids see that you practice what you preach. This means not lying to your friends, employer, or family members when your children are around.

Because your actions are speaking louder than your words, if your kids catch you lying they will doubt what you tell them in the future. And telling lies will be the behavior that they emulate.

Make Sure Your Children Spend Time Outdoors

A lot of kids seem to spend most of their time playing video games or watching TV. It's important that your children get fresh air and exercise. And nothing is more fun to kids than playing on the new outdoor playsets that have recently come on the market. Some look like forts while others look like castles.
