It would be hard to imagine a successful business that doesn't own a website. Successful websites attracts prospects and customers, gives them the information that they want, and either sells them something, supplies information, or puts them into a sales funnel whose ultimate goal is to get them to buy the company's products.
The bottom line is that websites work. It doesn't matter the profession or the business, the size of the business, or whether it is established or brand spanking new; websites generate income if they deliver a strong message.
Effective websites convey strong, memorable messages to prospects and clients. And your site delivers your message them 24/7.
While most people believe that a web site has to offer a product for sale and have a way to accept and process credit card transactions, the reality different. Most sites are primarily information based. They attempt to communicate with the visitor first rather than trying to immediately sell him or her something.
However, if your business does have products and/or services to sell then an ecommerce site might be apropos.
Whatever its purpose, every website has an index page which is usually called the "home page." Usually this is the first thing that a visitor who comes to the site sees. The home page is also the default page. It is where a visitor who types the URL into the address destination bar on his or her browser goes.
The entire site should be designed to be easily navigated and almost intuitively understood by all of your visitors.
You can take one of several approaches in order to create a website. Software has made it possible for most people to build their own websites. On the surface it seems to be as easy as writing and sending emails.
You can purchase templates that will help you to build your website rather quickly and efficiently. And they do not cost very much.
However, your website is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.
Although it is what your visitors see, if it is to be successful it must be based on a valid business plan. The site must be structured and optimized to first get the most visitors. And then it must be able to motivate them to take the action(s) that you want.
If this is important to you, then you should consider hiring a company that specializes in custom website designs. Although it will certainly cost you more initially it will save you time and could very well mean the difference between owning a successful website as opposed to one that exists somewhere on the Internet but does not generate any business.
