The Future of Fusion

There are so many different ways to enjoy a fine family dining experience, but we hardly talk enough about how difficult it can be to organize everything. After all, how exactly do you figure out how to please everyone in your household? If your family is anything like mine, you know how diverse everyone's tastes can be in a large group - let alone strict and absolutely necessary dietary restrictions that might need to be observed. Naturally, it makes planning a complicated feat, but it's not impossible. There are many different kinds of things you can do to simplify the process, though - trust me, I'm a veteran - and something I continue to tell everyone is look for a restaurant that offers a diverse menu selection. Do not assume the Italian restaurant will have something mom will like, make sure of it! Checking the menu out online beforehand can be a huge help in that department, and most restaurants in the modern era have thriving web presences.

Personally, I found a restaurant that works for exactly what we need. Latin fusion restaurants seem to offer exactly what we need as a whole and as individuals. With a philosophy of fusion - mixing and matching, contrasting and borrowing from various Latin American and Hispanic cultures in order to create an exciting new type of menu that claims a rich culinary legacy as well as a unique taste palate - a menu of Latin fusion food can be as large and diverse as my family unit... and that's saying something.

I'm glad to see that it's not just something we've discovered on our own - that is to say, the popularity of fusion is not a local anomaly. There are dozens of fusion restaurants cropping up all over the states and enjoying a relatively predictable level of popularity and praise no matter what scene they fit themselves into. From Appleton, Wisconsin to New York City itself, these establishments are rapidly taking the United States of America by storm. Fine dining is gaining a new face in the modern era that celebrates the contributions of Latin Americans and Hispanic Americans, and allows that celebration to help lead us into a new era of culinary excellence.

I'm not going to lie, being a second generation Puerto Rican American has given me a bias on this subject. I'm excited to see how far we've come in terms of race, history, culture and discrimination in this country in relationship to my own heritage. Instead of being something to be ignored or shoved away, our culture is being integrated and praised as part of the future of this country, and that's as wonderful as it is exciting. Latin fusion restaurants are all a part of this legacy and this future. There's no shortage of good reasons to continue supporting this trend and my own local business. The food is delicious, my family can agree on a place to eat together, and the philosophy is sound. What's not to love?
